Welcome 3 producer Firoz Nadiadwala has reported faced a three-month sentence of rigorous imprisonment
Actor Akshay Kumar recently announced Welcome 3 which is officially titled Welcome To The Jungle, on his birthday. This Ahmed Khan-directed film is the third instalment in the franchise and is scheduled for release next year. However, Welcome 3 has encountered difficulties, as it has allegedly been put on hold due to unpaid dues, leading to a complaint filed against the producer, Firoz Nadiadwala, by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). The complaint pertains to the outstanding salaries of the film's technicians and actors. Filmmaker Firoz Nadiadwala faced a three-month sentence of rigorous imprisonment (RI) from a city court due to a delay in remitting Rs 8.56 lakh in tax deducted at source (TDS) for the fiscal year 2009-10. The complaint against him had been lodged by an income tax officer back in 2015. Recently, BN Tiwari, the President of FWICE, conveyed to ETimes, “We have notified all the actors associated with the film, including Akshay Kumar and Disha Patani, about the federation's decision to refrain from cooperating with Firoz Nadiadwala due to outstanding payments.” ALSO READ: Akshay Kumar Cuts Down His Fees For Welcome 3, Hera Pheri 3? He further said, “We have urged them not to resume shooting for the film until the pending dues of Rs 2 crore for the technicians are settled. Firoz Nadiadwala initially paid Rs 4 crore to the technicians of Welcome 2 in 2015, which was later reduced to Rs 2 crore. However, Nadiadwala ceased payment by halting the deposited cheque.”
